Buenos Aires Contemporary Art Museum

Imagined as continuous circuit of spaces, the museum is a three-dimensional jig-saw puzzle, with galleries that slip, slide, and interlock with each other. Ascent up the museum is via a unique set of stairs that appear at every level and carry the visitor from space to space, culminating in spectacular views of Rio de la Plata riverbank & the Puente De La Mujer Bridge in the foreground. The ground level has the smallest built footprint with outdoor sculpture courts that become the museums' identity. Galleries start at Level 2, overhanging beyond the footprint of the ground level; creating a sensation of hovering, much like the bridge & ship in the foreground. Diffused natural light is allowed to descend down into the gallery spaces though lateral shifts in floor plates in the building section.
