MANA CONTEMPORARY ENTRANCE PLAZA

The loading dock of a former factory is brought to life by transforming it into an urban plaza. Cast in concrete, the gentle intervention between the existing brick facades creates the main entrance to Mana Contemporary. Design elements include a 50' long ramp, a planter wall that doubles as seating, and a plinth with steps that unfold as a theatrical stage set. As one ascends the ramp, the body disappears from view and reappears at the end of the ramp, creating a subtle play between the seen & unseen.
